Our onsen is 100% natural. A full view of the Hida River can be enjoyed while soaking in the outdoor bath. The natural surroundings and soothing onsen will ensure your comfort. In the lobby, we welcome you with a footbath. Just putting your feet into the hot water will relieve your fatigue from the journey. Razan Hayashi, a Confucian who served Tokugawa shoguns in Edo period, highly praised Gero Onsen for its quality. He named three hot springs - Kusatsu, Arima and Gero - as the best of all hot springs in Japan in his poetry.

In order to fully appreciate the experience of a traditional Japanese hotel, we highly recommend the gourmet dinner, which is available upon request. We offer kaiseki dinner courses, which include local seasonal dishes such as Hida beef and Hida soba.
